My Journey to Becoming a Digital Marketing Mentor

From catching waves to riding the digital wave, my story is one of persistence, adaptability, and a never-ending thirst for knowledge.

Early Beginnings: Windsurfing to Digital

It all started when I was just 12 years old. I caught the windsurfing bug, and before I knew it, I was traveling the world, chasing the perfect wind. At 14, I took my first solo trip to Egypt, and that’s when everything changed. Suddenly, I wasn’t just a kid with a surfboard; I was a young adult learning to navigate different cultures and take care of myself.

But here’s where it gets interesting. As I progressed in windsurfing, I started asking people to film my tricks and I then edited the footage. This sparked my creativity, leading me to create unique content that expressed my imagination. Recognizing my growing skills, I joined Upwork and quickly built a successful freelance career, earning over 2000 euros per month within a few months.

My journey on Upwork was incredibly successful. By 17, I had achieved a 98% job success rate on the platform, which opened doors to various digital projects, expanding my skillset rapidly. Unfortunately, an incident with a client led to my suspension from Upwork. This setback didn’t stop me, though. At 19, fresh out of high school, I landed a job at one of the biggest media houses in our region. This opportunity immersed me in the world of digital marketing agencies. I started by setting up advertisements for big companies and soon found myself managing a new platform for young generations. This project was my first real taste of the startup world. I was involved in every aspect – from brainstorming ideas to publishing content online. We even ran online shows with prizes! In just one year, we hit 50,000 subscribers and racked up millions of views. As exciting as it was, I knew it was time for my next challenge when the learning curve began to flatten.

Entrepreneurial Ventures and Challenges

After leaving the media house, I jumped into a startup for an Italian clothing company. At 21, I created my first company, and let me tell you, it was a rollercoaster. The first startup? A complete disaster. We lost money, and I was at the helm, learning some hard lessons.

But here’s the thing about failures – they’re just stepping stones to success. Working through sleepless nights (thanks to my experience with U.S. clients on Upwork), I analyzed my mistakes. When we closed that project, I immediately pivoted to selling products online. And guess what? Within days of launching the website, we started generating revenue. After 2-3 months, we were pulling in 5,000 euros monthly in sales.

This success opened doors I never knew existed. Suddenly, I was the go-to guy for various companies. I wore many hats – advertiser, strategist, project manager, salesperson, IT expert. I was organizing events with over 100 attendees and even launched another company that started generating thousands per month within the first quarter.

Mastering Digital Marketing. As I delved deeper into the world of digital marketing, I became obsessed with optimization. I helped companies achieve better results, making their pages more convertible. My focus was so intense that I lost touch with friends and connections. But looking back, this dedication was crucial for my growth.My diverse experiences – from working in traditional jobs to managing startups and big corporations – all culminated in an invitation to work on a digital trading platform. This new challenge was perfect because I could apply all my previous experiences. I’ve been working on this platform for several years now, and it’s been incredibly satisfying. The future is looking bright.
